I’m back from getting married, which means that I’ve left the house on the beach in favor of returning home and doing work (sigh). If you’ve attempted to get hold of me the past week and failed, please blame my new wife and bear with me as I catch up on everything.

I was able to check two items off my list to do list today:

  1. Post new pictures to the Gallery. The pictures of 3PointD’s Walker Spaight. He’s been nice enough to chronicle the process of creating the avatar on the site and you should check it out if you’re interested in getting a figure done yourself.

The avatar also contains two things that we hadn’t done before: prim hair and a grass colored base. Walker’s prim hair was short and essentially glued to his head (no, or very few gaps between head and individual pieces of hair). Since this was the case, we gave it a try and it came out great. You can really see the individual locks.

The grass base is just another texture put on instead of the default plywood. I’m going to put together a number of different base textures that people can choose from as it also looked pretty cool.

  2. A number of people have approached me asking if we’d create non-avatar statuettes. The answer is a wholehearted “yes!”. They immediately then ask: how much will it cost to get their “Superfun Couch of Tartan Textures” or “Wicked Ninja 5000 automobile” created.

I’d launch into this description of how blah blah effected cost and blah blah too, so instead of repeatedly doing that, I posted a new page that describes how we do custom models and the factors that predict how much it will be to create.

Maybe I’ll get some more items completed tomorrow.

Anyone with suggestions, ideas or anything else, please email me at mike [at] fabjectory.com.

Thanks!
