Custom Creations

After a careful census of SecondLife was conducted, we determined that SL residents had created over 500 hundred bajillion trillion different objects in world.

Ok, so we made that number up, but that doesn’t change the fact that there are tons more cool things in SecondLife than just people’s avatars.

If you’d like to see your SecondLife creation brought into the real world we’d be glad to help. Email mike [at] fabjectory.com or IM: Hal9k Andalso inworld.

Everyone asks about costs, so here are the cost guidelines to keep in mind.

Cost Guidelines:

  1. Volume - total cubic inches of material needed to create your object. More volume = more cost.
  2. Axis Height - it takes longer to create “taller” items. The larger the size of the smallest dimension the more the cost.
  3. Breakability - No freestanding portion of your object can be smaller than 1 millimeter and really should be more like 3-5 millimeters or it is pretty much guaranteed to break off. The smaller the freestanding pieces of your object the more expensive it is going to be.
  4. Complexity - After your item is extracted from SecondLife, we run it through a series of checks and tweaks to make sure it is ready for fabrication. The more prims and textures your object is composed of the more complex this process and the higher the cost.
